Seal of Quality
In order to strengthen the confidence of the consumer in vending
machines, the operators of food and beverage machines have, together
with their federation and the German Vending Association (BDV)
in Cologne, set themselves a quality standard and produced a seal
of quality.
An automat service provider who receives a seal of quality must
fulfil quality standards, referring to amongst other things, hygiene,
food security, product quality and the technical quality of its
personnel.
The seal of quality is granted for a limited duration of time.
An application must be made for re-certification. The holder of
a seal of quality agrees to submit to an inspection by a neutral
expert.
With the seal of quality the vending industry wants to show their
responsibility towards the consumer and, in relation to other areas
of the automat economy, distinguish it as an independent segment
of the catering industry.
